78 couples tie the knot in mass wedding

As part of the month-long celebration of the town fiesta, 78 couples exchanged vows in a mass wedding ceremony sponsored by the local government unit (LGU) of Dinalupihan on Tuesday morning.

The event, dubbed as Kasalang Bayan 2023, was held at the Bulwagan ng Bayan and was officiated by Mayor German “Tong” Santos. The major sponsors, godfathers and godmothers of the newlyweds were 3rd District Representative Gila Garcia, who was the former mayor of Dinalupihan, Vice Mayor Fernando Manalili and members of the Sangguniang Bayan.

LGU Dinalupihan department heads also witnessed the occasion. According to Mayor Santos, this is the 11th year that the LGU-Dinalupihan has organized the Kasalang Bayan to provide free civil wedding services to couples who want to legalize their union. Aside from the free marriage license and certificate, the couples also received gifts and cash assistance from their sponsors in public service.
