Samal town Mayor Alexander Acuzar’s relentless effort to help distressed overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) paid off when no less than the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) bestowed him a certificate of appreciation for good deeds.

The mayor received the certificate during a brief but meaningful ceremony on June 14, 2023 at the Widus Hotel in Clark, Pampanga. It was handed over by Atty. Falconi V. Millar, director of OWWA Regional Welfare Office 3. Jay Sammy Lat, Samal municipal administrator, said Mayor Acuzar had been helping distressed OFWs even from other towns of Bataan. He said some people directly asked assistance from Mayor Alex for their relatives who are saddled with financial problems and other job-related issues. “Gusto lang talagang tumulong ni mayor.
