Local farmers can now have something to be thankful for following the distribution of financial assistance from Department of Agriculture ‘s Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF).

DA Sec. William Dar with Bataan Gov. Albert Garcia and Dinalupihan Mayor Gila Garcia led the distribution of financial assistance last May 24 at the Dinalupihan Sports Center.

The DA Communications Group reported that the Rice Farmers Financial Assistance (RFFA) program allocated Bataan province P33.66 million budget with 6,732 rice farmers receiving P5,000 cash assistance each.

On fuel discount voucher program, the DA region 3 said that 26 corn farmers and fisher folks in Bataan received P3,000 worth of fuel discount vouchers each.

A total of 26 farmer cooperatives and associations (FCAs) in Bataan will also receive farm machineries and other technologies amounting to P32.7 million from the Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PhilMech) under the RCEF’s mechanization component.
