Board Member Popoy Del Rosario said he believes that the passage of the drug-free workplace ordinance at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, which he sponsored will be a big help in the fight against illegal drugs.

The ordinance aims to ensure officials and employees of Provincial Government of Bataan, 12 municipal and city governments, national government agencies, government owned and controlled corporations, state universities and colleges within the territorial jurisdiction of Bataan remain drug-free in order to continuously provide effective and efficient services to the people.

Board Member Jorge Estanislao, chairman of the SP Committee on Health, helped push for the enactment of the ordinance. Del Rosario also said his colleagues at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan especially Vice Governor Cris Garcia supported the legislative piece. They want not only public offices but also private entities in the province to strictly implement the ordinance particularly the random drug testing. SOCO Bataan is sponsoring drug tests for its annual anniversary that can be tapped for the program.
