Dinalupihan Mayor German “Tong” Santos led the opening of the town’s Buntis Congress 2022 with the theme “Happy si Baby, Happy si Mommy” on Friday. The mayor said they want to ensure the health and safety of the pregnant women and the child in their womb by giving the right education and care.

One hundred twenty pregnant women heard a lecture on vital information on pregnancy conducted by the municipal health office at Bulwagan ng Bayan. The hall was filled with cheering when beauty and talent contest started among pregnant women representing each of the rural health units in the municipality.

Free laboratory check up among pregnant women was also conducted. Before the program ended, pregnant women and baby stuff were raffled off. To show her support, 3rd district Congresswoman Gila Garcia graced the event. Dinalupihan Tourism and Arts Chairperson and mayor’s wife Michelle Santos, 3rd district coordinator Rolly Buniag, Vice Mayor Fer Manalili, other Sangguniang Bayan members and department heads also attended.

The congress was facilitated by MHO head Dra. Lahaina Gabriel- Bulaong and other health officers Dra. Kyren Janne Ladao, RHU Physicians RHU I Dr. Corazon Bautista, RHU 2 Dr. Julie Gomez, RHU 3 Dr. Fernand Evangelista, RHU 4 Dr. Cecil Francisco, RHU 5 Dr. Bryan De Gracia, and RHU 6 Jay Reboroso with public health nurses, rural health midwives, Jose C. Payumo Jr. Memorial Hospital HEART Unit Head Dra. Melinda Layug and HEART Unit HIV Coordinator Dalem Dagame.
