Implementation of Universal Health Care Law, primary health care facilities, PhilHealth Konsulta, and other health care issues were discussed in last week’s Bataan Provincial Health Board Council meeting.

The meeting was presided by Bataan Gov. Joet Garcia and was attended by municipal health officers, mayors, former board member Godofredo Galicia who had been designated administrative consultant on health, Board Member Jorge Estanislao, committee chair of health in the provincial board, provincial health officer Rosanna Buccahan, and Dr. Cora Flores, Regional Director of Department of Health.

The discussion focused on the implementation of Health Konsulta package in every municipality. Estanislao explained that Health Konsulta package shall be afforded by all Filipinos. It shall include individual-based health services but not limited to initial and follow-up consultations, health screening and assessment, diagnostic services and medicines. The provincial health board council meeting shall be held monthly.
