Mariveles Councilor Ronald Arcenal authored an ordinance introducing the Coop Pugay Award giving recognition to outstanding cooperatives in the municipality.

The award will be bestowed every two years in October, the cooperative month, said the chairman of the SB Committee on Cooperatives.

He said an award committee will be formed to evaluate cooperatives.

Arcenal said there will be no limit to the number of awardees as long as they reach the level of achievement required by the committee.

“Noong panahon ni Mayor Jesse Concepcion sa isang programa nagbigay ng recognition para sa mga magagaling na kooperatiba sa Mariveles. Ngayon regular na natin itong gagawin dahil nagpasa na tayo ng ordinance para dito”, said the councilor.

Arcenal lauded the cooperatives in Mariveles for their contribution to the municipality’s economic growth as he assured the continued support to them by the local government unit.
