Mariveles intensifies anti-crime campaign

The local government of Mariveles is intensifying its anti-criminality campaign in cooperation with the police and 18 barangays.

Mayor AJ Concepcion with Vice Mayor Lito Rubia met a week ago with Police Provincial Director Col. Rommel Velasco, 18 Punong Barangay of the municipality and other concerned officials wherein problems faced by the youths like insurgency and public crimes were tackled.

It was also agreed in the meeting that police visibility will be heightened for security and quick response. “Mas paiigtingin din ang bisibilidad ng ating kapulisan upang maipakita at maipadama sa ating mga kababayan na mayroong awtoridad na handang protektahan sila laban sa anumang krimen”, stated Concepcion. Mayapa, maayos at masayang bayan ang minimithi natin para sa Mariveles”, he added.

The meeting was also attended by Mariveles Chief of Police Col. Emelito M. Dela Cruz, KKDAT National Spokesperson and Ambassador for National Youth Commission on National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict Affairs Franz Liam Arabia, Sangguniang Bayan Chairperson of the Committee on Peace and Order and Public Safety Councilor Joey Carandang, Committee Vice Chairperson Councilor Omar B. Cornejo, and Municipal Local Government Operations Officer Haidee C. Balicolon.

Mariveles, the most populous town in Bataan, is a growing industrial territory being host to Freeport Area of Bataan.
