New mall takes local folks to new experience

The hustle and bustle created by hundreds, or perhaps thousands of people from all walks of life– the young, the not so young, the “young adult” and the senior citizens — has brought the local folks to a new experience particularly to those who rarely go to Metro Manila.

One can easily see the excitement and smell the scent of almost everyone wanting to be at the right place, at the right moment to witness for themselves the “historic” opening of a popular mall almost everyone is talking about for some time now.

The lights and sounds that the children want to see and hear in a place called SM City Bataan was opened and blessed by Balanga Bishop Ruperto Cruz Santos in the presence of local officials led by Congressman Albert S. Garcia and Bataan Vice Gov. Cris Garcia, and BGeneral Bejamin Silo, Jr., director of Civil Security Group, on May 18, 2023 and was formally opened to the public the next day.

The SM City Bataan is the 83rd supermall in the country and the first in the province of Bataan and is situated on more than 46,000 square meter lot adjacent to Bataan transport terminal complex in Balanga City.

Sources said the supermall had initially hired more or less 2,000 young women and men.

Congressman Garcia has encouraged the mall management to help local entrepreneurs market their products which are of quality.

He said the new shopping mall will boost the economy as well.
