Said workshop was held to discuss local issues and provide technical knowledge to stakeholders on marine turtle conservation. Experts on marine biodiversity from Balyena Organization, DENR-BMB, and Marine Wildlife Watch of the Philippines, namely Elson Quiazon Aca, Environmental Consultant; Ma. Theresa R. Aquino, Technical Consultant; and Founder-Executive Director Arnel Andrew Yaptinchay helped representatives from various sectors understand Philippine policies and initiatives, responding to stranded turtles, DENR tagging, and monitoring of nesting beaches. Representatives from Morong Beach Resorts and Tourism Stakeholders Association (MBRTSA), private sectors, NGAs, select PGB offices, and the Bataan Peninsula State University research division group were also trained in different scenarios wherein turtles need immediate response. Certificates and tokens were given to both experts and participants as well as to the sponsors of the event, Anvaya Cove Beach and Nature Club, Bataan White Corals Beach Resort, and Brizo Hotel and Beach Resort. PG-ENRO OIC Mr. Raphael De Leon thanked and commended everyone who took part in the activity, that will be of great help in conserving one of the treasures of Bataan, the Pawikans.
