A housing project that will benefit Samal families will soon rise in Barangay Imelda, Samal.
Groundbreaking and signing memorandum of agreement were held recently for the construction of the housing project, an initiative of Samal Mayor Alex Acuzar and the CFC ANCOP and Cross Catholic Outreach, who envision to give decent houses to poor residents of Samal. “Lubos ang aking pasasalamat kay CFC Chairman Dr. Jose Yamamoto sa pagpili sa bayan ng Samal na maging benepisyaryo ng kanilang proyektong pabahay sa mga mahihirap”, Acuzar said during the groundbreaking ceremony.
For his part, Yamamoto said, “Higit tayong nagpapasalamat sa ating Panginoong Hesukristo dahil ginamit Niya tayo bilang instrumento sa pagbibigay ng tulong sa mga nangangailangan at sisikapin nating makipagtulungan kay Mayor Alex Acuzar para sa layunin na tuluy-tuloy na pag-angat at pag-asenso ng bayan ng Samal “.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Vice Governor Cris Garcia, First District Board Member Tony Roman, Vice Mayor Ronnie Ortiguerra and Sangguniang Bayan members, Punong Barangay ng Imelda Reynaldo Matawaran and council members, Bataan Human Settlements Office Head Christopher Leonzon, and Samal department heads.
ANCOP, which stands for Answering the Cry of the Poor, is a non-profit organization founded by the Catholic family renewal community Couples for Christ (CFC). Community Development Program (CDP) is one of the major projects of ANCOP aimed at directly helping the poor by providing them shelter or housing.
