Mayor Alex Acuzar led the town folks in celebrating the 383rd Araw ng Samal. A much anticipated event was Mutya ng Samal won by Monique Angelika Santos of Barangay West Calaguiman. Michelle Geresa of Barangay Sapa was First Runner Up and Nicey Kaixin Nanasca of Barangay San Roque, Second Runner Up.

Acuzar led the witnessing of the 7-minute fireworks display during the Serenata. Banda Katorse of Bulacan and Banda San Lorenzo Ruiz from Bacoor City played during the Serenata. Various local religious leaders gathered in one place to sing as symbol of unity during the Interfaith Night. The Gabi ng Saya on April 29 was bannered by popular band Parokya ni Edgar with other performers. The Samal Municipal Tourism Office headed by its chairperson Mrs. Arlene Forbes-Acuzar prepared the activities.
