Sen. Imee wants to revive ‘Kadiwa,’ nutribun

Sen. Imee Marcos said last Saturday she wants to see again the glory of “Kadiwa” stores where basic commodities are affordable and nutribuns served to public school children for their nutritional needs.

Marcos who was the guest of honor of Kabaka’s 26th founding anniversary in Abucay last weekend, reminisced the days when her father former president Ferdinand Marcos launched the Kadiwa store sthroughout the country.

Marcos announced the rice farmers more particularly the women can avail of financial assistance out of P5 million from the municipal government of Abucay through the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

This is on top of P3,000 each for 1,000 housewives of Abucay plus a small bag of rice.

She said in the last two senatorial bids, she was upended in Bataan but President Bongbong Marcos’ sister keeps coming back to Bataan where her father put up the country’s first export processing zone, now the Freeport Area of Bataan which was initiated by then Congressman Enrique “Tet” Garcia.

The lady senator first visited the Government Arsenal in Limay town where she met with local officials led by Bataan Second District Rep. Albert S. Garcia, Limay Vice Mayor Richie David and Bataan Vice Gov. Cris Garcia.
