Secretary Jose Rizalino “Jerry” L. Acuzar of Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) was lauded by Senators JV Ejercito and Risa Hontiveros for his “extraordinary” innovative idea in housing project during the opening of the Agency’s 4th anniversary celebration in Quezon City last week.

Ejercito said: “We have a very daunting task ahead, a very gargantuan task of providing one million houses every year. Palagay ko si Secretary Acuzar po yung X factor na kailangan natin sa DHSUD.”

Hontiveros, on the other hand, said she fully supports the DHSUD in achieving its goal of curbing 6.5 million housing backlog through “Pambansang Pabahay” program.

She added that she will continuously push for funding support for the realization of the project.

Under the program, the DHSUD is set to build one million housing units every year until the end of the current administration.
